Cengiz Avcı, a farmer in Antalya's Kepez district, has successfully harvested the first batch of plums from 200 trees in a 1500 square meter greenhouse, yielding 150 kilograms. The price per kilogram for the prunes varied between 1000 TL and 250 TL depending on the market. The initial harvest was primarily sold domestically and in international markets like Russia, Germany, Austria, and Dubai. Avcı expects the second harvest, due in mid-March, to yield around 4 tons. The Kepez Agriculture District is pleased with the early plum harvest, highlighting it as the first in the country and noting that the majority of the production, grown across 86,000 decares, is greenhouse vegetable cultivation with a increasing trend towards fruit and ornamental plant cultivation.
