In 2022, the hotel and restaurant channel saw a significant increase in the consumption of craft beers, with the production volume rising by 16.7% to 244,000 hectoliters, surpassing the 2019 production levels. Despite this growth, the sector faced challenges due to rising costs in energy, logistics, packaging, and raw materials, which impacted profitability. The number of craft beer manufacturers also saw a reduction, with only about 200 being actively involved. Catalonia emerges as the region with the highest concentration of craft breweries, followed by Andalusia. It is anticipated that the production trend will continue to rise in 2023, albeit at a slightly lower growth rate.
