The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the second reading and as a whole the draft law on bringing the regulation in the field of veterinary medicine into compliance with EU law. Draft law No. 12285-d was supported by 285 people's deputies at a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday. According to the explanatory note, the adopted law improves the mechanisms for financing veterinary-sanitary measures for the effective prevention and response to animal diseases, improves the system of state veterinary-sanitary control (supervision) over the circulation of veterinary drugs; updates the rules for the production, circulation, registration, and application of veterinary medicinal products in accordance with EU standards; aligns with European requirements for licensing activities in the field of veterinary practice, production, distribution, and retail of veterinary drugs.
