The results of the 2023 season of exports of Moldovan berries exceeded the forecast and last year’s figure

According to the Association of Berry Producers Pomușoarele Moldovei, based on data from the customs service, in 2023 the export of Moldovan strawberries (fresh) amounted to more than 2.4 thousand tons, raspberries - 721 tons. Last year, about 1.4 thousand tons of strawberries and 632 tons of fresh raspberries were exported from the country. At the same time, at the beginning of summer, operators of the country’s berry market predicted that this year, thanks to a good harvest, the export of fresh strawberries from Moldova would increase by about 50% (in fact, it increased by 71%), while the supply of fresh raspberries due to lower prices for them it won't happen at all.
