The sunflower market in Ukraine is maintaining a tense situation with a gradual increase in prices of the oilseed crop, following the rise in prices of unrefined sunflower oil on international markets, as well as due to the devaluation of the hryvnia against the US dollar, experts from the Ukrainian branch of the French company for the trade and transport of agricultural products GrainTrade commented. During the week, the asking prices for sunflower with 50% oil content in Ukraine increased by another 300-400 hryvnia per ton to 28,500 – 29,200 hryvnia per ton with delivery to the factory, but in dollar terms they added only 3-4 dollars per ton to 594-610 dollars per ton excluding VAT. Over the week, the hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar fell by 0.9%, and over the last month by 1.9%, which added about 500 hryvnia to the price of the oilseed crop.
