The Association of River Municipalities of the Entrepeñas and Buendía Reservoirs has announced that it will study requesting precautionary measures and appealing judicially the decision made this Tuesday by the Commission for the Exploitation of the Tajo-Segura Transfer to authorize the sending of a total of 168 cubic hectometers (hm³) in the coming months, corresponding to previously approved volumes —including the 27 hm³ automatic ones from September— which could not be executed due to the rupture of the aqueduct channel in August. The association recalls that the hydrological year ends on September 30 and, according to current regulations, the volumes not transferred within this period automatically expire, except in catastrophic situations or cases of extreme need duly justified, "which do not occur in this case."
