From June 24 to 26, a business delegation of Russian agro-industrial enterprises organized by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the Agricultural Export Development Center was held in Chengdu, with over 50 Russian companies participating, including producers of meat and dairy products, grains, oils, fish, pastries, and beverages. Ilyushin stated that Russia exports fish and seafood to China.
Ilyushin said: "Russia is the world's largest exporter of frozen fish, and China is our main buyer. In 2024, Russia's fish and seafood exports to China exceeded $2.4 billion."
Ilyushin noted that in Russia's fish exports in 2024, crustacean products accounted for 47%, and frozen fish for 40%.
According to him, as of June 15, 2025, Russia's frozen fish exports to China increased by 20% year-on-year, fish fillet exports increased by 34%, crustacean exports increased by 17%, clam exports increased by 6.7%, and canned fish exports increased by 41%.
According to the Russian Agricultural Export Development Center, Russia-China agricultural product trade in 2024 exceeded $9 billion, doubling since 2018. Russia's agricultural product exports to China in 2024 were $6.4 billion, with the largest shares being fish and seafood (38%), vegetable oils (26%), grain crops (10%), oilseeds (11%), meat (9%), and processed products (5%).
