Russia is planning to increase trade and economic ties with North Korea, despite international sanctions. The first step will be to start supplying apples from North Korea to the Russian market. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Andrei Rudenko, confirmed that Russia continues to support the expansion of ties with North Korea, while also adhering to international law and UN Security Council resolutions. The supply of apples from North Korea to Russia will be in compliance with the EAEU's legislation, requiring a phytosanitary certificate to confirm the absence of quarantine organisms in the goods.
