The Russian Ministry of Agriculture forecasts stable melon prices in 2024, with a 16% increase in the collection pace compared to last year. The organized sector is expected to harvest 645,000 tons, a slight 0.5% rise from 2023. By July 23, 50.3 thousand tons had been collected, marking a 16.1% increase from 2023. The Astrakhan region is the leading producer, contributing over 40% of the total, followed by regions like Saratov, Volgograd, Rostov, Kherson, Krasnodar Territory, and several republics. The domestic market is mainly supplied by local production, with imports from Uzbekistan, Turkey, and China supplementing in the first half of the year.
