Mersin Metropolitan Municipality's sapling supports for agriculture continue to contribute to rural development. In Silifke's İmambekirli District, olive saplings planted in 2020 have started to bear fruit, and producers carried out the first harvest together. Within the scope of the support program carried out by the Metropolitan Municipality Agricultural Services Department between 2020-2024, a total of 200,419 'Gemlik and Sarı Ulak' type olive saplings were distributed to 5,242 producers in 13 districts. With these supports, approximately 6,680 decares of land were brought into olive production. The Metropolitan Municipality will continue its support for small and medium-scale producers to strengthen rural development and sustainable agriculture.
