The article provides an overview of strawberry prices and production in Russia, as reported by the Berry Union and other experts. In the second half of May, strawberry prices in non-chain retail remained similar to the previous year, with the highest prices in Primorye and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and the lowest in Crimea, Krasnodar region, and Stavropol region. The cost of strawberry production increased by 20-30% due to factors like lack of seasonal workers, increased wages, higher prices for planting material, and adverse weather conditions. Despite these challenges, the Russian fruit and berry sector is experiencing steady growth, with a decrease in consumption of fruits and berries due to economic challenges. Strawberry production in hortical farms in Russia has seen a significant increase of 1.5 times compared to the previous year, with a high yield and imports from countries like Turkey, Egypt, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
