The ro-ro VILENA has delivered the first batch of lemons from the Turkish port of Zonguldak, marking the start of the new harvest. The majority of Ukraine's annual citrus consumption, up to 300 thousand tons, is imported from Turkey. The import season usually lasts for six months, with the peak occurring during the New Year's holidays. The port of Odessa, which has a modernized refrigerator facility put into operation in 1951, plays a crucial role in storing and handling the imported fruits.
