Mr. Nguyen Van Quat, a farmer from Hoa Muc village, Hung Yen, has found success in cultivating Taiwanese guava pears, earning a significant profit each fall and winter season. In 2023, he harvested 25 tons of fruit from his 0.54 hectares of guava trees, netting a profit of over 150 million VND. Mr. Quat manages the farm with his wife and believes that Taiwanese guava pear trees provide the most stable income. He recommends using ash and soybean seeds for fertilization, biological pesticides for pest control, and grafting Taiwanese guava pear seedlings onto native guava roots for cultivation. Despite producing nearly 5,500 tons of fruit per year from 120 hectares of guava trees, he notes that the market demand for Taiwanese guavas remains high.
