South Korea: The secret to success in growing subtropical vegetables is customized technical support

As the cultivation area and consumption of subtropical vegetables are increasing due to global warming and the increase in multicultural families, customized technology support for farms is receiving a great response. The Rural Development Administration announced that it has formed a specialized ‘field technology support group’ for subtropical vegetables with experts in cultivation, soil/fertilizer, and pest control to help farms that are struggling due to insufficient subtropical vegetable cultivation technology. The field technology support group conducted a demand survey through local rural development organizations, selected 20 farms that wanted technical support, and identified farming difficulties in advance.
