The European Commission is reportedly planning to vote on a proposal to increase the price of grain imports from Russia and Belarus by 50%, as per a letter reported by the Financial Times. Additionally, a 50% tariff is expected to be imposed on vegetable crops and their processed products. Despite Russia's competitiveness in grain markets, it has already blocked most of its food imports from the EU. By 2023, the EU's imports from Russia, including grains and bean crops, are projected to reach a record 4 million tons, making up 1% of the EU's total exports.
