The slaughter of 123 cows in Girona begins due to the first case of nodular dermatosis.

The Generalitat has initiated on this Saturday the culling of 123 cows from the cattle farm in the Alt Empordà region (Girona) where the first case in Spain of contagious nodular dermatosis (DNC) has been detected and has set a security perimeter around it of at least twenty kilometers for 28 days. The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food of the Generalitat of Catalonia has informed this Saturday that the presence of the disease in that farm has been confirmed by the analyses carried out in the Central Veterinary Laboratory of Algete (Madrid), which represents the first case located in Spain after DNC, which does not transmit to humans, has been confirmed in France and Italy.
