The start of the anchovy fishing season in southern Peru is authorized for 2025

The Ministry of Production (Produce) confirmed the start of the anchovy and white anchovy fishing season in the southern part of the Peruvian sea for 2025. The activity will begin at 00:00 hours on the third business day after the publication of the rule and will extend, at most, until June 30, or until the allowable catch limit of 251,000 tons is reached. Fishing will take place between 16 degrees south latitude and the southern limit of the Peruvian sea, with strict regulations to ensure the sustainability of the resource. Only registered and authorized vessels will be able to participate, which will have specific catch limits determined by the authorities.
