The State Duma has passed a law on warning beekeepers about the treatment of fields with pesticides.

The document will come into force on March 1, 2026. The State Duma has passed, in the third and final reading, a law according to which agricultural enterprises in emergency cases can warn beekeepers, as well as the population of nearby settlements, about the use of pesticides no later than 24 hours in advance. According to current legislation, it is stipulated that beekeepers and citizens living within a radius of up to seven kilometers should be notified through the media no earlier than 10 days and no later than 5 days before the start of pesticide treatment of land plots. The notification must indicate the name of the pesticides, the date, method, and dosage of their application, as well as the cadastral number, address, or location of the land plot where the treatment is planned, and the recommended periods of isolation of bees in the hives.
