Governor Eduardo Leite launched the Rios – Resilience, Innovation, and Works for the Future of Rio Grande do Sul project on Monday (15). A working meeting at the Piratini Palace with the National Economic and Social Development Bank (BNDES) marked the beginning of the initiative. Rios is a structuring project of the Rio Grande Plan, part of the Governance axis, and will promote a broad study of the Guaíba hydrographic region, which includes nine hydrographic basins and 252 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul, suggesting new measures to face future hydrometeorological events. This survey will take into account the more than 180 projects already existing and in progress through the Rio Grande Plan for the entire State. The planned investment is R$ 30 million, through Funrigs, and the delivery of the final document, with the new projects, should occur in 525 days.
