Varieties of Spanish almond selection are distinguished by high frost resistance and late flowering periods are now available for cultivation in Ukraine. This was reported by the president of the "Ukrainian Nut Association" Gennady Yudin. For the first time in Ukraine, two self-pollinating almond varieties, Penta and Makako, have been registered in the State Register of plant varieties suitable for distribution in Ukraine. Varieties of Spanish selection of self-fruiting varieties on the GF-677 rootstock underwent variety testing and variety study in various regions of Ukraine. As Gennady Yudin added, Spanish scientists researched and analyzed the climatic conditions of Ukraine, changes in the continentality of the climate, and trends in rising average temperatures, and developed a map of the probability of industrial cultivation by zones of Ukraine for a separate category of self-fruiting varieties.
