The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) assessed that this decision is a positive signal, as imported spices into the U.S. could see reduced tariff barriers if they fall under the exempted categories. This is a favorable opportunity for Vietnam to regain market share in the U.S. market if businesses can meet import standards, quality, and certifications. However, VPSA noted that the tariff exemption does not mean all import taxes are waived.
