According to media reports, the Friendship Pass on the China-Vietnam border in Guangxi imported a total of 48,000 tons of fresh durian in the first quarter of this year, with a value of 1.85 billion yuan. Among them, 35,000 tons were imported from Vietnam, a year-on-year increase of 48.1%, with a value of 1.28 billion yuan (about 6.4 billion baht); and 13,000 tons were imported from Thailand, with a value of 570 million yuan, and the import volume and value decreased by 59.5% and 63.5% year-on-year respectively.
