The tomato sector is up in arms over the "disappearance" of information about the volumes imported from Morocco; a situation that has sparked complaints from producers and exporters, who are demanding "transparency and respect" for European standards from the European Commission. The European Commission's Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development has issued a statement on its portal acknowledging that, "due to the delay in data transmission by some customs authorities, import data since October 2025 are well below the usual level."
