The United States today announced the imposition of a 17% tariff on tomatoes imported from Mexico, following the cancellation of the free trade agreement between the two countries for this product, reported the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, citing Agence France-Presse. Initially, the U.S. government threatened Mexican tomatoes with a 21% tariff, before ultimately deciding to apply a 17% tariff on the vegetables.
