A new free trade agreement (FTA) between the UK and India, which will come into effect in 2026, is likely to help them achieve this goal.
The free trade agreement was officially signed on May 6 and is expected to increase the value of goods trade by approximately £25.5 billion annually.
The tariff for Scottish salmon in India was 33%, which had previously hindered trade.
Salmon Scotland stated that thanks to the free trade agreement, India now presents enormous opportunities for the industry.
