The US approves research against Ecuadorian shrimp

The Ecuadorian shrimp started the year swimming against the current. The biggest obstacle is in the US market, after, in December 2023, the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) agreed to investigate Ecuadorian shrimp, due to the low prices at which, apparently, it would be marketed in that market. This practice, known as 'dumping', was denounced by the United States Shrimp Processors Association (ASPA) in October of last year. Also under the radar is Indonesia and other countries such as India and Vietnam, which (like Ecuador) are also being investigated for countervailing duties.
