Clethodim is a herbicide that has historically been used to control a variety of broadleaf weeds in many food and feed crops and non-crop areas. These proposed clethodim products would allow for post-emergence application on clethodim-tolerant cotton and soybean, commonly referred to as "over-the-top" (OTT) use. The purpose of OTT clethodim application is to remove emerged broadleaf weeds, especially those that are resistant to other herbicides that compete with cotton and soybean plants and may reduce crop yield. OTT clethodim products have significant benefits in controlling these herbicide-resistant weeds and managing future herbicide resistance in cotton and soybean. EPA's Risk Assessment In addition to the proposed registration decision, the EPA also released its draft human health risk assessment, benefits and impacts assessment, ecological risk assessment, and biological assessment. The EPA found no potential dietary risks, aggregate risks, non-occupational or occupational ...
