The Valencian Government denounces the "arbitrary" increase in the minimum flow of the Tagus River to send more water to Portugal.

The Government of the Valencian Community has denounced that "the Government of Spain is once again harming the agriculture of the province of Alicante by arbitrarily allowing an increase in the ecological flow of the Tagus River which only benefits Portugal with more water while reducing the contributions to the agriculture of the province". The Conseller of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Barrachina, has explained that "the decisions of the central Executive regarding the transfer will end agriculture, increase the risk of forest fires and increase the possibilities of flooding. This Government prefers Portugal flooded while they dry out the pantry of Europe". The conseller has warned that the abandonment of the fields and the felling of up to 10 million trees "leads directly to the desertification of an area and the disappearance of an agriculture that returns in the form of wealth all the water solidarity it receives".
