The vetch in demand abroad was sown as seeds by Kirov farmers in Russia

Russian vetch seeds have a good reputation internationally and demand is growing following crop failures in several European countries where the crop is important for regenerative farming subsidies. In the structure of winter sown areas for the 2024 harvest, farmers of the Kirov region have allocated a place for marginal vetch. 99% of all varieties of winter crops sown this year are domestic selection, according to employees of the Kirov branch of the Russian Agricultural Center. In the Kirov region, agricultural producers have completed sowing winter crops on a total area of 73.35 thousand hectares, preparing for the 2024 harvest.
