FAO's forecast for global grain production in 2025 this month was raised to 3,003 million tons, and thus the expected global production volume may exceed 3 billion tons for the first time. The revision of production estimates was primarily due to improved crop prospects, especially in Argentina, where favorable weather conditions and larger-than-expected planting areas are expected to result in a record harvest. Additionally, forecasts for wheat production volumes in the European Union and the United States of America were revised upwards.
