The almond sawfly, a recently emerged pest in the Almeria region of Los Vélez, has caused production losses of up to 80%, according to the Territorial Delegation of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of Almería. The Junta de Andalucía organized an educational day for farmers in Vélez-Rubio about this pest and the head worm, which is also affecting farms to the point of drying out some trees.
