It is expected that the wheat harvest in Argentina in the 2025/26 MY will reach a record 25.5 million tons, surpassing the previous estimate of 24 million tons, due to higher-than-expected yields as the harvest progresses, the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange reported on Thursday.
• The previous record was 22.4 million tons, achieved in the 2021/22 season.
• Harvest collection is 33.9% complete, with yields in central agricultural areas exceeding expectations, the exchange reported.
• More abundant-than-usual rainfall in recent months has contributed to the growth of the wheat harvest.
• Soybean planting has reached 36% of the estimated 17.6 million hectares (43.5 million acres), although excess moisture in the Buenos Aires province is delaying work.
• Corn planting is at 39.3% of the expected 7.8 million hectares, with 82% of the planting areas in good or excellent condition.
• Argentina is the world's largest exporter of soybean oil and meal and the third-largest exporter of corn.
