The world's eggplant harvest has broken the record

In 2023, global eggplant production hit a record high of 60.973 million tonnes, as per the Food and Agriculture Organization's statistical agency. The top three producers were China with 39.244 million tonnes, India with 12.792 million tonnes, and Egypt with 1.859 million tonnes. Rounding out the top six countries were Turkey, Indonesia, and Spain, with production volumes of 817.59 thousand tonnes, 699.89 thousand tonnes, and 260.41 thousand tonnes respectively.
