A shipment of live Russian king crabs, weighing 16 tons and valued at US$6,608,000, has arrived at Shipu New Port Terminal in Ningbo, China. This is the first importation of king crabs in the city. The crabs, which weight between 1.5 kg to 6 kg, will be sold in Shanghai and other Chinese cities. The Xiangshan Customs Office has expedited the customs clearance process and established a green channel for the importation of fresh and live goods. The temporary housing for the crabs will be in the base of the Zhejiang-Taiwan economic cooperation zone.
