Theft of R$1 million in high-quality ham ends with two detained in Spain

The theft of 700 pieces of high-quality sausages, including almost 300 units of Iberian ham - one of the main products of Spanish Christmas - ended with the arrest of two people in Spain. The delicacy is widely used in haute cuisine and has already been part of the official menu at the Oscars, the annual awards ceremony of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The estimated value of the stolen products, from Los Pedroches, is 200,000 euros (the equivalent of R$1 million reais or R$3,300 per piece), authorities stated.
