Khuzestan province in Iran has approximately 7,000 camels across 14 cities, with Hoizeh, Shush, Hamidiyeh, and others as main breeding areas. Camel farmers in the province have been engaged in this profession for generations and the demand for camel milk and meat is increasing, with around 150 tons of milk and 208 tons of meat produced annually. The province has taken measures to support camel breeding, including forming a camel farmers' cooperative, establishing milk collection centers, attracting investors for large industrial units, and cultivating pasture plants for camel nutrition.
