The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BASH) has conducted inspections at 551 animal breeding sites, reporting no clinical signs of disease in the animals. The inspections, which covered over 11,000 small ruminants across 220 settlements, were initiated in response to outbreaks of plague in Romania and Greece. These inspections are part of ongoing efforts to ensure the health of small ruminants in Bulgaria, with more inspections planned. The agency is reminding the public to report any violations of the measures aimed at preventing the spread of plague, threatening fines or other sanctions for non-compliance.
