At a recent forum on promoting the export of local spices and specialties, it was highlighted that Vietnam's vegetable and spice industry has great potential in international markets. While the export volume of spices and regional specialty products is small, they hold significant value, contributing up to 20% of Vietnam's international trade value. However, there are challenges such as the lack of a national industry development strategy, pesticide residues, and the need for improved plant protection and microbiological standards to meet the strict requirements of international markets.
