In 2022, the Rural Development District (DDR-001), Coastal Zone of Baja California, Mexico, produced 20,427 tons of alfalfa, primarily used to feed dairy cattle. The highest production was in the municipalities of Ensenada, Ojos Negros, Maneadero, and San Vicente, by approximately 40 production units covering 1,078 hectares. The average yield was 19 tons per hectare, leading to an economic benefit of over 64.1 million pesos. Alfalfa is a key crop in the region, generating around 14,796 jobs annually.
