The USDA has reported a significant decrease in the global wheat production forecast, attributed to adverse weather conditions in key producing countries like Russia, Ukraine, and the EU, causing a drop in supplies to 1.050 billion tonnes. This reduction, along with a decrease in global consumption of 4.3 million tonnes due to lower feed use in Europe, has resulted in a decline in world trade expectations. The EU, in particular, faces a significant reduction in global ending stocks for 2024/25, largely due to prolonged wet weather in France. Additionally, the USDA forecasts a slight decrease in global production of feed grains, largely due to changes in corn production areas in Ukraine and Russia, and a reduction in global barley production, with some offsetting increases in Australia.
