The French Ministry of Agriculture (Agreste) has revised its estimates for key crops, including a significant reduction in common wheat, barley, and rapeseed harvests due to adverse weather conditions. Common wheat is now projected at 25.43 million tonnes, down from previous estimates, with last year's results showing a 27.6% decrease. Barley estimates have also been lowered to 9.80 million tonnes, and rapeseed to 3.85 million tonnes. Despite these setbacks, grain corn harvest estimates have slightly increased to 14.21 million tonnes. The soybean harvest is expected to be slightly higher than in 2023, at 4.5%, while sugar beet harvest expectations have been slightly lowered, but still show a 7.8% increase from the previous campaign. The expansion of the area under cultivation, particularly sugar beet, is a significant factor in these projections.
