Giant snails around the Ivory Coast are at risk of extinction due to pesticides and deforestation, prompting locals to breed them in farms to save the species and generate income. The snail farming process is simple, natural, and organic, leading to a significant increase in production over the past 5 years. In addition to selling the snail meat, the organization also uses the snail shell for livestock feed and the mucus for cosmetic products, which has led to the sale of an average of 5,000 soaps and shower gels per week with hydrating and moisturizing effects.
