The main exporters of whiskey to Russia for the first 10 months of the current year were Latvia, Spain, and Lithuania, with significant decreases in exports compared to the previous year. Latvia led with a 23% decrease, followed by Lithuania with an 11.4% decrease, and Spain, which doubled its exports but also overtook France to take the third place with a 15% increase. Italy rounded out the top five. Notably, Ireland and Great Britain, traditionally known for their whiskey production, did not export any whiskey to Russia during this period. The European Union reduced whiskey supplies to the Russian market by 21% in August compared to July.
