The article highlights the significant decline in soursop cultivation in Tan Phu Dong district, with the cultivation area reduced by more than 90% from 1,500 hectares to around 100 hectares. This reduction in soursop production is attributed to late cultivation, die-off of trees due to high salt levels, and shifting farmlands to lemongrass cultivation. The high cost of fertilizers and the unpredictable prices of soursop, exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, have further discouraged farmers from continuing soursop cultivation. Consequently, the price of soursop during the Tet season has surged to 14,000 - 15,000 VND/kg, with expectations of increasing to 20,000 - 25,000 VND/kg after the Tet holiday.
