Tilapia Exports Skyrocket

Brazilian tilapia exports grew significantly in the first quarter of 2025. According to sector data, 3,900 tons of cultivated fish were shipped, representing an 89% increase in volume and 112% in revenue, totaling US$ 18.2 million. The United States, the world's largest consumer market, was responsible for 95% of purchases, generating US$ 16.2 million for Brazil. Focusing on this advance, Aquishow Brasil 2025, the largest national aquaculture event, promoted the panel "Export Market for Brazilian Tilapia" on May 29 at 1:30 PM in Uberlândia (MG). The proposal was to discuss how Brazilian fish farming can expand its presence in the international market, especially in the US, which is currently the main destination.
