Vietnam has seen a significant growth in its agricultural exports, with a rate of 5-7% per year since 2015, reaching 186 countries and territories. The country has eight products with exports exceeding 1 billion USD, including vegetables, cashew nuts, rice, coffee, rubber, shrimp, wood, and pangasius. However, the government has identified challenges, such as the low added value of most agricultural products, which prevents competition in the global market. To counter this, the government is encouraging the production of clean products and increased processing to add more value. The article highlights the need for strategic investment to meet the requirements of free trade agreements (FTAs) and improve the global competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products.
