Egypt: Establishing a company to press cotton seeds to produce oils

The Minister of Business Sector, Hisham Tawfiq, revealed the establishment of a company to extract and produce oils from cotton to exploit 36,000 tons of seeds expected to be extracted from the new gins before the end of 2022. Tawfik stressed that the new company comes within the integrated industrial scheme to maximize its economic value, if those seeds were not exploited in the old system. Dr. Ahmed Mostafa, Managing Director of the Holding Company for Spinning and Weaving, said that the Holding Company contributes 49% to the seed age company, compared to 51% of the United Oil Company’s share. This came during the opening of the trial operation of the developed Zagazig gin, at a total cost of about 150 million pounds, in the presence of Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Governor of Sharkia, and his deputy, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Moati.
