Togo's Updated 2020 National Rice Development Strategy (SNDR 2) was reviewed in Lomé, showcasing the ministry of agriculture's support that increased rice production by 3.8% in 2021-2022, with paddy rice reaching 171.8 thousand tonnes in 2022. The strategy aims to achieve 1,115,087 tonnes by 2030 to ensure food security by improving productivity and quality, reorganizing the sector, and enhancing governance. The plan, requiring CFA87 billion in financing, is supported by CARD and JICA.
