Togo plans to ratify the WTO’s fishing subsidy convention, as approved by the Council of Ministers on January 10. This move will allow Togo to take more measures to reduce harmful subsidies to fishing and protect global fish stocks. Additionally, Togo has passed many laws to implement beneficial fishing and aquaculture policies, such as ratifying the International Convention for the Conservation of Certain Species of Wild Fauna and Flora in the Atlantic Ocean.
