Netherlands: Tomato and cucumber price recovery, pepper price dives further

The longest day of the year is behind us, and so is the highest production peak. Early last week, the remaining kilos of tomatoes were still being traded here and there, but then the price found its way up again. On the VBT clocks, the average price climbed slightly, although prices in week 26 for loose and vine tomatoes still could not match the five-year average. An average of 37.2 euro cents was paid for a kilo of vine tomatoes in week 26. For a kilo of loose tomatoes, slightly more: 41 euro cents. The price of cucumbers also found its way back up slightly. The average price here comes out at just under 22 euro cents each. This still puts the price below the five-year average, but at least it follows the five-year trend, where prices tend to rise after June. The pepper price fell a little further last week.
